A little about me
Nobody sat me down and explained that design was a job. I just kept noticing things — the door that tells you to push versus the one that makes you guess, the app that lets you think versus the one that won't stop talking. It wasn't a skill yet. It was just where my attention went when nobody was watching.
Turns out there's a whole discipline built on that itch, and you can do it on purpose, for people you'll never meet. That's still the job, more or less: someone hands you something complicated, and you get to turn it over until it feels obvious.
Lately I've been drawn to the parts of software that are still being invented — where nobody has decided yet what the right gesture is, or what a thing should even be called. AI has cracked a lot of that back open. It's a strange and great time to be designing interfaces, and I'd like to be useful in it.
I studied Information Science at Cornell, concentrating in UX, and now I live in the Bay Area. Outside of work: hanging out with my cat Miso, tending to my plants, and filming the small ordinary days so I remember them.
